The wait is over. The mystery has been made known. Arise! Shine! Walk in this new path and be transformed.
Today we recognize Epiphany and the visit of the Magi to King Jesus. They shared the gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh with Jesus giving him homage as a king. They have traveled long distance guided by a star to find Jesus. And they returned a different route, disobeying Herod’s orders, because they had been warned in a dream.
The Gentile Magi gave the message that God’s kingdom is for all peoples. They represent some of the newest Gentiles who could recognize God and welcome God’s messages for their lives.
Paul tells us in the Ephesians text that the mystery of God has been revealed even onto the Gentiles. The church’s task is to show the wisdom of God to the world. How are we showing God’s wisdom in our world?
