God’s boundaries are wise and protective. When we push through them, surrendering to temptation, our vulnerabilities are exposed. Show us, Jesus, through fasting and Scripture how we can grow stronger through temptation and remain true to the calling of God in our lives.
God calls us out of familiar and comfortable places in our lives and invites us into new challenges, new ways of being, thinking, and doing. As we respond to this invitation, God shows us a deeper experience of Divine Presence.
When all we can see of our lives is a pile of stones in the desert or a deep well of pain, God shows us there is water deep within the rocks and wells–the living water of God’s love. We rejoice in the Rock of our Salvation!
