Sloth to Joy/Passion

August 18, 2019

Today we conclude our series on vices and virtues with a focus of slothfulness to passionate joy. Slothfulness is being indifferent or not caring. It’s disengagement, carelessness, being half hearted or wanting to live with ease and not willing to work. However, we are called to live beyond sitting in the pews, living out our faith each day beyond the Sunday morning worship. We are called to live with joyful passion.

Some possible ways we might be able to engage faith:

  1. Cut out white noise – build quiet moments for refreshment and time to hear God
  2. Learn perseverance – some things take generations; commit to the long journey and give faith our full strength found in God.
  3. Be willing to be uncomfortable – living with passion can be exhausting

Act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8)
